VP of Operations opportunity with a SaaS business helping businesses and marketing teams increase user engagement and retention. This is a fully remote role based in the UK.
Our client has developed an exciting product with an impressive list of customers and a fast-growing team. They now need someone to sit between the CEO and the Team Managers to help run the business operationally and bring organisation and structure to the existing teams.
This role will suit the kind of ops leader who is used to running and building different teams including finance, HR & People and Product. This is not an ops role that particularly needs someone from a commercial background as the sales team is already being run successfully and will not fall under your remit.
About the role:
In terms of what you’ll be doing, there are essentially two phases to the role.
0 – 6 months:
The first phase will be spent pulling together 3 distinct teams who have managers but need someone to coordinate the way they work together and ensure this is done in a scalable way. There are processes in place but these need to be redesigned and improved upon so that they are fit for scaling the business.
6 - 12 months:
The second phase will then be to take a more traditional operations role and establish a Finance team, HR and People teams, and IT, settling into a BAU role as you head up the different departments and help the CEO scale the business.
Beyond 12/24 months, as the business scales and the teams grow, so will your responsibilities. Once all the different departments have been established and are functioning smoothly with scalable processes, you will be able to start to work on a higher, strategic level and look at what can be achieved next to help the business grow. However, this is not needed on day one, this position very much needs a hands-on “doer” rather than someone who is looking for a business that needs transformation or turnaround.
The ideal candidate is someone well-versed in operational leadership, who has put scalable processes into play, built teams, and thrives in a startup environment. You will be a hands-on leader who knows how to get things done and is skilled in getting people on board to follow you.
